The aim of physiotherapy is to restore movement and function when an animal has been affected by injury or illness and to maintain or improve quality of life. Physiotherapy is an evidence based discipline which sets to improve performance and promote healing.
We offer three types of physiotherapy appointments:
Musculoskeletal Assessment – these involve a full body assessment. During the appointment we will observe the animal’s movement, check on joint health and a check of the muscles for tone and balance.
Initial Consultation – during this appointment we will undertake a full body assessment followed by appropriate treatment. A full body assessment is undertaken even if appointment is for a specific injury. This appointment is required for all new injuries or problems.
Follow-up Treatments – following the initial consultation, further treatments may be required. These sessions will involve physiotherapy treatments and rehabilitation as needed, along with follow up checks on conditions identified in during the initial consultation.
We also off a block of six treatment sessions for those conditions requiring a longer treatment process.
